Using the Ocean Healthmap

Learn how to search for healthcare providers and complete an eReferral or eConsult, all in one place

Searching

Find a specialist by name, location, language, subspecialty and more

To conduct a basic search, simply type the name of the provider or service into the search bar and press enter.

To conduct an Advanced Search, click on the magnifying glass in left-side menu. There, you will find options to search by languages spoken, provider subspecialty, or specific tags such as “Accepting Patients.” Note, you can also use the Advanced Search feature to filter for providers who are accepting eReferrals or eConsults.

Sorting

Sort by wait time or distance

Once your search results have been populated, simply click on the “Sort By” drop-down menu and select the desired option.

With the Ocean Healthmap, you can sort your results by shortest wait times, which are updated daily using real-time referral data. You can also sort by distance from the patient’s home, city, or a specific address.

Sending

Send eRequests and track their status

Once you have selected your preferred directory listing, you can choose the appropriate health service and begin completing their eRequest form.

Thanks to Ocean’s integrations, several form fields will be pre-populated with relevant patient health information directly from their chart. Complete the remaining fields, adding attachments and any additional information as required.

Once you have sent the referral or eConsult, you can track its status in the Ocean Portal under “Ocean eReferral Network.”
