Ocean, particularly with the email option, is one of the few advances in technology that actually improves patient interaction. In my opinion it makes the visit more efficient from both a quality of care standpoint and a time standpoint. I am confident that in the future, it will become a “standard of care” practice.
When we started using Ocean, we saw immediate improvements to our patient flow and productivity. Not only did we eliminate the need to type and then file or scan intake forms, we also didn’t have to deal with the frustration of trying to transcribe handwritten forms.”
The results of our COPD screening on Ocean have been astounding. The key is we’re trying to catch them early, get them into support and programs, so they don’t end up with people in emergency, utilizing emergency services.
We saw three compelling reasons to use Ocean for our intake process – cost savings, time savings, and the ability to apply simpler, more consistent processes through automation. We also saw the potential for Ocean to help us automate other processes beyond patient intake in the future.
