Why Should You Use a Check-In Kiosk?
The kiosk can streamline check-in, reduce the burden on front-desk staff, and make it easy to ensure patient data is kept up-to-date and accurate. With the easy-to-use healthcard swipe, patients can automatically load any administrative forms, email consent, clinic reminders and more.
CognisantMD is proud to offer our clients a selection of two kiosk models that are manufactured in Canada and designed for commercial use. Our interactive tablet kiosk stands feature a fully enclosed locked tablet housing and integrated cable routing, offering a secure, elegant addition to your waiting room. The kiosks also integrate directly with a healthcard swipe reader to allow easy check-in with automated healthcard expiry check.
The Check-In Kiosk Floor Model
The floor model is a durable, lightweight aluminum stand with an elegant matte white finish. The stand features a fully enclosed tablet housing and integrated cable routing for a cable-free look. ArmoLock™ security screws keep your tablet secure, while the enhanced WiFi signal transparency ensures that your Ocean connection is not hampered.
The Check-In Kiosk Countertop Model
The countertop model is a free-standing option, with a compact design that sits nicely on any countertop (reception desk, waiting room table, etc.). It can be set up in either landscape or portrait mode, with a full 90˚ range of movement for enhanced accessibility. The countertop model is equipped with an integrated cable routing system that offers a clean, cable-free look.
Additional Hardware Requirements
For Clinics in Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia only:
In order to support self-check-in with a built-in magnetic card reader, the check-in kiosk requires a peripheral package and a supported tablet model like the Samsung Galaxy E (9.6”) Tablet. The peripheral package includes:
- Magtek Card Reader
- Power Adapter
- Extended Micro USB to USB charge cable (required for floor stand model)
Note: CognisantMD can not support untested hardware from third-party vendors and therefore, cannot guarantee that kiosk card swiping and reading will work without an approved peripheral package from CognisantMD, Bluebird IT, or TELUS Health.
